Adobe Photoshop CS5
Adobe unveiled today the newest version of its famous image editing software: Photoshop CS5. Unlike CS4, which didn’t offer much over CS3, this new version has some great new features including: content-aware filling, Puppet Warp, new HDR options, new Camera RAW, automated lens correction, flexible custom panels, new desktop switcher and others. Plus, it also has new GPU-accelerated features, better support for 64-bit and some improvements on the OpenGL engine.
There is one that deserves special care, though. It’s called “content-aware filling” and it’s amazing! It makes cutting objects from the scene much easier and painless. Take a look at the video above, from the Photoshop program manager.
Pretty amazing, huh? IMHO, this feature alone is worth all the upgrade – $199. Pre-orders can me made now at the Adobe website and the product will ship in mid-May. The price for the full version (non-upgrade) is $699, which is the same they were asking for CS4, IIRC. Not bad.
