Flipboard released for iPhone (finally!)

Flipboard for iPhone

After a long wait, the popular iPad app Flipboard has finally come to the iPhone. Unlike other apps which are just scaled-down versions of their tablet counterparts, this was completely redesigned to work properly on a smaller screen.

For those who don’t know Flipboard, it’s an app that gets your feeds (social networks, RSS, etc) and organize them automagically in a magazine-like layout. For instance, this is the All Things D twitter feed.

As you can see, Flipboard makes reading feeds a much more pleasant experience, and the sleek interface complements the experience, making it one of the best apps ever released for iPad.

Now, back to the iPhone. Flipping the pages like a notepad was a very clever idea and it made the interface very intuitive. The only problem is that, depending on where you swipe your finger down, you might get accidentally bringing down the Notification Center. Apart from that small flaw, it’s a gorgeous app.

One question that was popping up in both my twitter and Facebook timelines: “What’s my Flipboard account?”. Well, starting at version 1.6 (when they introduced support for tumblr and 500px), they also featured an optional feature called Flipboard Accounts. If you created an account by that time, you should use that login to experience Flipboard on the iPhone. If not, then you just need to create a new account, log in and enjoy.
