A new major version of the Advance Toolchain for PowerLinux is released.
Advance Toolchain for PowerLinux 6.0-0 new features
- New base toolchain, based on gcc-4.7.2 and glibc-2.16.
- Supported on SLES 11 and RHEL 6.
- Optimized libraries for POWER7.
- gcc now defaults to -mcpu=power6 -mtune=power7.
- Oprofile now supports non-root single process profiling.
- Valgrind supports Decimal Floating Point for Power.
- Optimizations for tcmalloc on Power.
- Several bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Complete list and details of bug/performance fixes is available in the Release Notes file in the repositories below. If you are running Linux on a POWER7 system, I strongly recommend you to try this toolchain.
