A new update for the Advance Toolchain for PowerLinux 8.0 is available, featuring several fixes for bugs and security issues in gcc, glibc and OpenSSL.
Advance Toolchain for PowerLinux 8.0-7 new features
- GCC provides:
- Fix for ICE following invalid register assignment.
- Fix ppc long double isinf .
- Fix ICE in gimple_expand_builtin_pow.
- Fix for libatomic fails to build with -Os on powerpc64-linux.
- Fix for HTM builtins aren’t treated as compiler barriers on powerpc.
- Handle PRE_INC with invalid hard register.
- Fix powerpc unrecognizable insn.
- Fix linker error on powerpc64 bootstrap with -mcmodel=small.
- The GNU C Library provides:
- Fix for CVE-2016-3706 – getaddrinfo: Stack overflow in hostent translation.
- Fix for CVE-2016-1234 – glob: buffer overflow with GLOB_ALTDIRFUNC due to incorrect NAME_MAX limit assumption.
- Fix for CVE-2015-8778 – hcreate, hcreate_r should fail with ENOMEM if element count is too large.
- Fix for CVE-2015-8779 – catopen() Multiple unbounded stack allocations.
- Fix for CVE-2016-3075 – nss_dns: Stack overflow in getnetbyname implementation.
- TCMalloc fixes an occasional deadlock on CEPH.
- OpenSSL provides 6 security advisories.
