My best photos of 2010 – Part 1

New Croton Reservoir
New Croton Reservoir – Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

It was very hard for me to narrow down to 5, but here it is. Not because I took only good shots, but because I shot a lot of photos this year. New York City, Westchester, Washington D.C., Arlington, Paris, Versailles and São Paulo were my photo destinations for 2010. And there’s still more to come before New Year! So, lots of photos, hard to choose. Anyway, let’s get started.

The first photo I chose was taken during a car trip around Westchester County in the state of New York. It was a good opportunity to get out of Manhattan a bit, get in contact with nature, test my new camera and freeze to death. This particular shot was taken at New Croton Reservoir, near Croton-on-Hudson, NY. It was sunny, and we had typical winter clear skies, so the reflections on the water were stunning, with reds in contrast with deep blue. I chose the ultra-wide angle lens for this to take advantage of the clear landscape, with no distractions around to pollute the scene. Almost no edition as well, just a light noise filter applied.
